What is this Forging the Hero stuff?

April 9, 2016

I asked my good buddy, Greg Ellifritz, of Active Response Training, to be a pre-reader for the new book. He has promised a full-scope review in the coming days, but in the meantime tossed out this “blurb” for Sam to throw up on the FO Store site.

“Mosby starts his book with a chapter called: “Shit Just Ain’t Right.” It’s a feeling that many of us share, but few are working to resolve. Mosby, on the other hand provides some realistic solutions in his book Forging the Hero. Fixing societal problems requires community building…developing one’s self, one’s family, and one’s tribe to provide stability in the face of future uncertain times. Mosby provides a roadmap to do just that. He describes a process to build individual resiliency and construct a supportive network of family and friends to help you weather the hard times ahead. Our future isn’t in joining endless numbers of unorganized Facebook “prepper” groups for support. Our future is determined by the real world support we can build in our communities. Forging the Hero gives us the best strategies to build a community network providing for individual growth, financial support, emergency preparedness, and common defense. Reading this book and embracing the ideas within is a way to move forward and prosper in times ahead when only people with a well-developed “tribe” will prevail.”

  1. Not to put too fine a point on it, it all begins with each of us. That is the essential element, the crux of it all.
John Mosby, here are your own words. I saved them because I think they are some of finest words there are:

    “Remember:
The fundamental human right to self-defense and its tools does not stem from any piece of parchment or other act of man.
It is much more elemental than that.
I have more principled reasons for my stand on owning firearms, and I don’t care one whit in the world for the Second Amendment. It means nothing to me. My rights have nothing to do with the U.S. Constitution, and when it dawns on people that it has finally been erased — the principal danger of all political premises posed as “social contracts” — my rights will still validly exist, even if I die defending them. I own firearms because I have a right to private property. That is the First Thing.
…As the Regime takes off the gloves, every day it creates tens of thousands more American Patriots who realize yes, it really probably is going to get that bad, so really, they may not have that much to lose after all.
So why not stop being afraid and stand up to the Regime?
Join the honorable Resistance, or make your own. Garden, cook at home, teach your children, and get right with the Lord. Cut expenses, avoid taxes, learn new skills, and build savings of tangible real assets. Train, stockpile, recruit, prepare, guard, protect, and defend.
    Make this your finest hour.

    You said it motherfucker.

In a way this here is allegory to what you said above:
“At the heart of any viable and enduring society will always be agriculture, including all secondary sources of livelihood like gardening, cultivation, gathering, fishing and hunting. Any society that has severed the link between the majority of the population and the basic foundations of life – green leaves, soil, earth and water – is destined to collapse.” -Pentti Linkola

Lot to be said for agrarian way of thinking. Living.

That all of above to me is culture upstream of politics, of tyranny really. It is insurgency, it is not surviving, it is thriving in spite of the sonofabitches. Because of the bastards. Why it is clear why they despise us dirt people, because we are free, and by being free we withdraw our consent for the fuckers and what they are trying to do to us. “Mind your own fucking business!” is as powerful a weapon as our “assault” rifles. Because like our rifles, they are afraid of being assaulted by these instruments of our freedom because of what they are trying to do to us.

Hey, the further the spirit advances in the thought and act of defiance to tyrants, the greater the increase of adversarial use of force and violence to eradicating that defiance and resistance becomes. It is an evolution of defiance and insurgency that is required, and that it comes in stages, it grows and matures, it has to begin with each of us before it is all of us who defy together and the motive power and legitimacy behind it becomes a kind of plurality which is indomitable, and at some point the equation changes, in stages from one of being a subject to tyranny, to a refugee from it, to a one with your middle finger in the air, to one of subjecting tyrants to the motive energy of being so free, freedom can not be resisted any longer by any man made force or despots acts of violence. And to me, that right there is the defining thing.
